The drug is the peel of the unripen or nearly ripen fruit of the plant Citrus grandis, Tomentosa'or C. grandis (L.) Osbeck of family Rutaceae.It has effects of promoting Qi circulation and relieving phlegm, the herb is indicated for Qi stagnation, distention and fullness in the spleen and stomach, abundant expectoration, cough and other syndromes. Pummelo peel is superior to tangerine peel in the nature of warm-dryness. Therefore, it is appropriaate to use Pummelo peel for patients with abundant expectoration and cough but with no stagnated heat in the interior. Its dosage is 3-10g.
